Revving Up Creativity: Kids’ Day 2025 at 3DS Seattle/Bellevue

The Dassault Systèmes’ Seattle/Bellevue office hosted its third Kids’ Day on August 22, 2025, and it was a roaring success! This annual event brings together the children of Dassault Systèmes employees for a day of creativity, collaboration, and hands-on STEM exploration. Let’s take a look at the highlights from this year and revisit the fun from 2019 and 2023.

Thirteen young innovators joined the festivities this year, eager to learn, create, and explore. The day kicked off with an introduction to what we do at Dassault Systèmes and how our solutions empower customers to design a Virtual World for Real Life. Inspired by this mission, the kids dove into action!

Theme of the Year: CARS!

The hands-on session, led by our colleague Michael STEEVES, revolved around the exciting theme of cars. The kids were introduced to SOLIDWORKS Apps for Kids and started using it by creating a simple model of an internal combustion engine using the Mech It app. In doing so, they learning the basics of how engines work.

From there, they unleashed their creativity by designing 3D car bodies and wheels using the Shape It app. Each child added their unique flair with vibrant colors and fun stickers, showcasing their imagination and design skills.

Balloon Car Competition

The excitement shifted gears as our colleague Kim DO led the balloon car competition. The challenge? Build a balloon-powered car and see whose creation could go the farthest! The room was filled with cheers and laughter as the kids tested their designs, iterating and improving with each attempt.

This event wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of our team and the parents.

Looking Ahead

Kids Day is more than just a fun event, it’s an opportunity to inspire the next generation of engineers, designers, and innovators. By introducing STEM concepts in an engaging and hands-on way, we’re helping to spark curiosity and creativity in young minds.

We can’t wait to see what the future holds for these budding creators. Until next year, keep dreaming, designing, and building!
