Apps for Kids Highlight Newsletter: September Edition
As teachers and children return to school and parents to their desks, we are coming back to you with more and more information and news to enrich your Apps for Kids experience. Indeed, we have worked throughout the summer to prepare you for another exceptional educational experience, creating this newsletter but also enhancing our app and working closely with our partners to propose you new valuable lessons to teach. In the Spotlight
In this section, we want to pay tribute to educators or users who are doing great things and it seemed obvious to us to speak about AMP 4 Kids, a South African organization created by one of our resellers.
AMP4 kids was started to show children all the possibilities 3D designing and manufacturing has to offer and to broaden their futures. They chose SOLIDWORKS apps for kids program because they were convinced about its capacity to teach and engage children while allowing them to see the physical result of their design in 2D or 3D.
They indeed wanted to teach children lessons on how to make different things such as design and making, mechanics, or just inspiring creativity like creating a car in Shape It or a moving model of a train in Mech It. Click here to continue reading about AMP4 kids on the Apps for Kids blog.

Inspiration and Challenges
It is Back to school time!
In order to gently get them started, why not ask your children and students to illustrate this theme with Apps for Kids? Pen, satchel, notebooks, books or outfits, the themes are vast… Here is the video of a pencil to inspire them.
Have the kids get creative straight away. Then share their designs on social media mentioning #BackToSchool and #SWA4K.
Apps for Kids Tips and Tricks
Did you know that you can create Stickers in Capture It to use in Style It?
Creating custom stickers for your 3D projects is as easy as a quick doodle. Use both Capture It and Style It to create and add your awesome sticker creations to any 3D project.
To create the sticker:
– Open the Capture It app
– Use the draw tool to sketch out a picture
– Select the sketch and use the « Save as sticker » icon
Once you have saved it as a sticker it is ready to use in Style It.
– Open a project in Style It
– Select the sticker icon to access the side panel
– From « My Stickers » select your new custom sticker
– Select the faces that you want to add the sticker to and you are done!
