How to Draw a Snowman in 3D Step by Step?

Apps for Kids – Let’s Build a Snowman – SOLIDWORKS

Stage 1: Start with A Shape

The Shape It free app lets you build any 3D shape from basic prototypes. Here’s how!

Step 1: Select three Globe shapes

After you open the Shape It app:

  • Click on the Shapes button present at the bottom.
  • Select the Globe shape and you will get a large sphere at the center of the screen.
  • Add two more globes.

Step 2: Stack the three globes

Next, place the three globes on top of each other such that they form a straight vertical line.

You can position them close enough such that the end surface of the first globe touches the top of the second.

Step 3: Adjust the size of each globe

  • Let the bottommost globe remain of the same size.
  • Click on the middle shape and drag the arrow inward to make it smaller.
  • Do the same with the topmost globe.

Stage 2: Refine the Details

Now that the base structure is ready, it’s time to add the arms, scarf, and hat!

Step 1: forming the arms

  • Click on the lateral box of the middle shape, and select Split Face.
  • Drag the blue arrow outward to lengthen the arm.
  • Repeat the same steps on the other side of the snowman.

Step 2: putting on the hat

  • Add a Cylinder shape at the top of the smallest sphere to create a hat.
  • Adjust its size to make it small.
  • Select a box at the bottom of the hat and create its brim using the yellow cone to extend it outward.

Step 3: tying the scarf

  • Add a new Torus shape where the top and the middle globes intersect.
  • Click on it and reduce the size.

Step 4: Add the nose

  • Click on the face where you wish to place the nose.
  • Add a loop and split the face.
  • Extend it outward using the blue arrow.

Stage 3: Finalize with Style It

Once the snowman is complete, it’s time to refine it using the Style It app for children.

Step 1: Color the snowman with the paint bucket

  • Click on the Bucket button present at the bottom to get the color palette.
  • Select the White color and click on all three Globe shapes to make the body white.
  • Select black color and click on the hat to make it black.
  • Similarly, color the nose orange and the scarf red to add a touch of Holiday season to your snowman.

Step 2: Style the accessories using the paintbrush

  • Add a dash of color to the hat’s brim using the Paintbrush option.
  • Select the red color and tap on the faces above the brim to create a red stripe.
  • Choose the Draw option from the bottom, select black color, and draw three buttons in a vertical line on the snowman’s body.
  • Reduce the paintbrush size to draw eyes and a smile.

Note: For the hat and the scarf, kids can also pick a different color of their choice!

That’s how SOLIDWORKS Apps for Kids makes learning fun for children. Once you have added the final touches to the snowman with Style It, you can also convert it to reality.

Using the Print It app, print the 3D snowman and add it to your room décor!
